You don't have to be an artist to enjoy Charlane - but accommodations are limited so, please let us know if you are interested as soon as possible.

Charlane Plantation Artist Retreat: September 17, 18, 19 & 20, 2010 Weekend Schedules
We just finished our inaugural monthly retreat, with guests from all over the country, and everyone had a great experience... enjoying how time out here in rural Georgia seems to slow down as if to give everyone the chance to take in all the beauty.
We hope to hear from you! During this retreat we're adding the opportunity for folks to come out just for a single day of getting' away from it all – hike, go for a canoe ride or just enjoy some of our great food and nap on one of the verandas!
The day-only stay, which includes lunch & any of the activities you wish to participate in, is $100 and begins at nine and runs through 5 p.m. If you have only time for two nights and three days, the inclusive cost is $800. The full 4 day/3-night retreat is $1,000, including all food and accommodation in our historic, beautifully restored 19th-century Bullard House and The Lodge, exclusive of taxes, incidentals, tips - or any of the unique and high-quality Charlane Plantation shirts, hats, pullovers or other memorabilia – or certainly the not-to-be missed books and CDs from world-acclaimed musician Chuck Leavell (Allman Brothers, Rolling Stones).
Breakfast will be buffet. Lunches will be served at The Bullard House and probably outside if the weather permits. Bag lunches are available if you prefer to stay outside all day. Dinner will be served in the family style at The Bullard House.
Joy Hulgan is also going to be available for advice and consultation. Joy has an art degree from Mercer University and is noted for her pen and ink drawings of historic structures from our area and she is noted for her oil paintings. She has a postcard book "Georgia's Golden Isles" and over 100 limited edition reproductions of historical landmarks and places of interest in the Southeast. She is currently working on Macon, City in A Park. Her originals are collected worldwide.
You will need to bring your own tools for creativity be it painting, knitting, mosaics, photography or anything else that you can do to while away the time. We are in a remote area so it will be hard to get to an art shop without spending loads of special time. We will have plenty of mineral spirits, rags, and a few other things that you can purchase in our Charlane Store.
If you decide to join us please send me a message here on the guestbook or call at 478-945-3872. We accept credit cards or personal checks.
Hope to see you here....Rose Lane White Leavell
